Our Story

Tecabeja Ranch is in the Eastern Pecos River Valley located an hour from Santa Fe on Tecolote Creek. The ranch sits at an elevation of 6,000 feet with an abundance of high desert cactus and wildflowers along with juniper and pinyon trees as pollen sources. The primary nectar that makes the honey so light and unique is the Tree (Cane) Cholla Cactus Flower which provides the sweet, slightly tangy flavor with subtle floral and spicey notes. Tecabeja Ranch Honey is 100% raw, organic, local honey. Enjoy!

What makes our honey so special
Nestled in New Mexico’s high desert, Tecabeja Ranch lies along the banks of Tecolote Creek in the Eastern Pecos River Valley—about 30 minutes east of Santa Fe. Here, at 5,900 feet, our bees gather nectar from the blossoms that thrive in this rugged and beautiful landscape.
Our honey is born from a rare blend of Melilotus Sweet Clover and Apache Plume wildflowers, enriched by the vibrant nectar of Cane Cholla cactus and the subtle pollen of Piñon and Juniper trees. The result is an artisan honey unlike any other—naturally sweet with a delicate tang, soft floral undertones, and a gentle cinnamon spice that lingers on the finish.
Every jar of Tecabeja Ranch Honey is raw, unfiltered, and completely local—crafted by bees that forage freely across our high-desert meadows. We bottle only small harvests to preserve the pure character of each season’s bloom, ensuring that every spoonful tells the story of our land.
Our name reflects that story. Abeja means “bee” in Spanish, and since our bees work the wildflowers along Tecolote Creek, we joined the two: Tecabeja—the bee of Tecolote.
Taste the high desert in bloom. Taste Tecabeja.
